Quinta do Ortigao is located in the Bairrada region of Portuga. Production started out as a vocation. Historically, the primary concern of the family was with the careful selection and planting of castes of variety permitting the production of very complex wines. We stand out from white Sauvignon, Chardonnay, the Arinto, Bical and Maria Gomes. In reds, the caste base of Bairrada wines, Baga, is complemented by three high-quality wine grape varieties, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Cabernet Sauvignon.
In early 2001 the family decided to create their own wine farm, including a modern , and well-sized winery. The vinification capacity is more than 200,000 lt. and grapes from the farm are used exclusively.
