Artesana is an ultra premium, boutique-style winery located in the Canelones region of Uruguay. Uruguay’s flagship varietal is Tannat, which produces deep red, rich, full-bodied wines, with a dark fruit nose and flavor, and balanced tannic structure. We have two remarkable women winemakers handcrafting exciting, artisanal wines. Our estate-grown grapes are meticulously tended and our wines are made with passion and integrity. We take a natural approach to winemaking, allowing the distinctive terroir of our vineyard to be expressed.
Uruguay produces dynamic and award-winning wines of outstanding quality. Tannat, brought from France in the 1870s, has been found to be the healthiest of red wines with 3-4 times more antioxidants. Artesana wines are made in small lots fermented separately and aged in French and American oak. We have a future capacity of 5000 cases annually.
