A nearly 800-year-old tradition makes the Stift Klosterneuburg winery the oldest in Austria. In addition to that it is also the largest. More than one hundred hectares of vineyards are currently in yield and dispersed between three wine-growing areas: the “Grosslage” Klosterneuburg with vineyards directly in the vicinity of the winery, Vienna with vineyards in the Kahlenberg district and in the Thermenregion wine-growing area with extensive vineyards near the villages of Gumpoldskirchen and Tattendorf. Ecological soil management, organic fertilization, and cultivation methods that encourage beneficial insects are an integral part of the environmentally conscious vineyard management principles for the monastery’s entire properties.
