Established in 1758 by Jose Antonio de Cuervo. King Charles IV granted permission in 1795 to distill Tequila to Jose Maria G. de Cuervo, In 1891 La Rojeña became the most prestigious distillery in the Tequila region. Since 1907 Tequila Jose Cuervo has been recognized with the highest prizes in several international expositions. Madrid 1907, Paris 1909, and London 1910, among others. Family owned through 9 generations. Exports to USA started in 1934/ Young´s Market. In 1948 “Margarita drink” was born. No. 1 Tequila Worldwide 6MM cases. No. 9 Premium Spirits Company in the world.
