The DULON
family has been wine-makers from father to son for more than
250 years; although there was one generation when a member of
the family became a miller (the mill that still stands next
to the house is proof of this). When Jean Dulon founded the
property, there were only 42 acres; today Michel Dulon manages
455 acres. |

Mr. & Mrs. Dulon
|
|
Vignobles
Dulon are located in the Entre Deux Mers region of the
state of the Gironde, in the South West of France. Mr. and Mrs.
Dulon are the owners of 3 vineyards, which are spreading over
the villages of Soulignac, Targon and Langoiran. The exceptional
orientation of these vineyards and the special terroirs provide
perfect conditions to produce great wines. We produce quality
AOC labeled wines: AOC Bordeaux Red, White, Rosé and
Mellow, AOC Bordeaux Supérieur and AOC Premières
Cotes de Bordeaux. |
|
|
Château Du Vallier :
Situated in Langoiran, this property
is the newest one bought in 2004. The 20 hectares are situated
on the Garonne's upper hills, on a very famous Bordeaux Terroir.
Indeed, a long time ago, the Garonne has deposed alluvial
deposits and gravel on this soils (2 essential elements to
make a quality wine).

The robe is deep with some nice ruby reflects.
The nose is fruity and balanced with some chocolate
notes. The tannic structure is very soft, and
round. That provides you an easy drinking wine.
You will find some cherry, blackberry and blueberry
notes into that rewarded wine.

Other Comments :
A first pressing is made
to obtain a must of the best quality. A cold maceration
for 3 days at a temperature between 6 and 8 °C,
with a rough racking to remove the deposits. After
a cold stabilisation of 3 days, alcohol fermentation
takes place in thermo regulated tanks (average
temperature of 17°C). Maturing on lees during
several months in stainless steel tanks in order
to extract and refine the aromas.
With a clear and bright colour,
this wine has an explosive and fruity nose,
a typical character of the Sauvignon grape variety.
Notes of exotic fruits (mango) and aromas of
white flowers brings freshness and roundness.
